Ah, progress! What a fine thing that would be, were it possible. But, fear not, it will eventually be reality. At present, I’m suffering a strange eye defect that makes reading/writing and staring at a screen for any length of time something of a problem. It’s under investigation and will doubtlessly be resolved shortly. Until then, I’m having to ration my online time and reduce my writing to the bare minimum. You should see me in the eyepatch I’m using to rest my ‘bad’ eye (Ooh arr, Jim lad!). But I’ll spare you that.
So, since I returned from my voluntary offline break and my overseas spell in the sun, I’ve not done a lot on the new book. However, I was visited by a few ideas whilst lazing on the sunbed under that hot Mediterranean sunshine, and I wrote those in the same book I used to write reviews of the books I read in the same location. So, those minor instances of brilliance are now added to others on the Scrivener file for the new book, and will undoubtedly be brought into play when I begin the actual writing.
In the meantime, I received a brilliant review of volume 2, War Over Dust, from a reader who really understands what I’m trying to do. You can find it here.
I’m still offering free digital copies of Blood Red Dust and War Over Dust in return for honest reviews (It doesn’t have to be long, complicated, or detailed; just honest. A few words is all that’s needed). So, if you’d like to be one of those readers who help authors get their work noticed, please click the ‘Contact’ tab above, complete the short form with your email address and say whether you’d prefer a .Mobi, .PDF, or .ePub file and I’ll send you the book. Thank you.
