The distance between us
on this dying day of winter
signals what I wonder
is this the final parting
or a renewal of our love
or a simple misunderstanding
time will render comedy
when we glance back on years
we have yet to walk together?

This was taken using a longish telephoto at the end of a trip to a Welsh castle. It was December, and the sun was setting. As we returned from a brief walk in the surrounding countryside, I spotted this young couple on the horizon of a hill. I’ve no idea who they are or what they were saying to each other, but the picture spiked my imagination.
