Well, it’s official: Oil and water do not mix! Ever! However, they do make an interesting picture. Thanks for posting.

The spread of a film of oil on still water often casts a faint rainbow. Here, Brenda, it did that but so very faintly, it was almost invisible at the time.

Wow that is pretty but I wish we saw less and less of that. Sending you both hugs. ❤️🤗

This was on a puddle in the forest, Joni. Probably no more than the residue washed from the wheels of bicycles splashing through, it was almost too faint to see, and I had to do some work on the image to produce what I envisaged when shooting it.

Oh that is good to know. It was a lovely catch and I should have known it was something small. I blew one of your recent ice pictures up and asked Scott to try and guess what it was, he couldn’t. I thought it looked like bones hinged in between something. You could do an art show on just your photography that you capture in nature that many would never even notice. I apologize if I sounded unappreciative Stuart as I have been thinking a lot about cruise ships lately and the horrific damage that they do to our beautiful world. Hope you two are both well. I am thinking about getting the third vaccine. Are you two going to get it? ❤️ love you two Joni

Thanks, Joni. I’ve recently joined a newish platform called ‘Medium’, and I’m thinking of posting a few photo-essays there, so I may well do one on my natural abstracts. Good idea!
You never appear unappreciative, far from it. And I understand your concerns about the cruise ships, especially the large ones. They do so much damage, as you say.
Our government is still talking about the third jab. If they decide to go ahead, we’ll both get it, as we’re in the group that’s considered vulnerable. I think the real danger this winter may well be from the flu, unless, of course, a new variant of Covid comes along (I consider that possibility in my new novel).

Oh thank you Stuart. I certainly didn’t mean it that way at all. I love your natural abstract work. Your ice pieces are beautiful. It is more like a study of sorts. I am going to get the third jab if I can. Hope you both can get it also. Yes, I do worry about those horrible cruise ships. You may be right about the flu. Is your novel out yet? Sending hugs and flowers for Valerie. ❤️🤗🦋💕

The new novel ‘An Excess Of…’ is due for launch later this year, Joni. I’ll be announcing the date in a couple of weeks.
