Lovely towering trees. I always am intrigued by those stone fences – the labour involved!

The trees line a track we use frequently, Lynette; they catch the light so effectively.
Dry stone walls are quite a feature of the Yorkshire Dales, where we lived for a while. Some of these walls are hundreds of years old. Built to last!

They certainly are! I I very much like the idea of something ordinary lasting that long. It’s not a cathedral or grand palace, but intricate and lovely in its own way.
