I love it when something unexpected but wonderful happens, such as how you ended up in Switzerland.

It was due to a misunderstanding at the ticket office. We thought we’d asked for a trip around the lake but it turned out our tickets were ferry tickets to Locarno from our lakeside resort of Stresa. When the boat arrived, everyone got off, but we stayed put, until one of the ship’s officers popped up to the top deck and explained we’d have to leave the boat and then return when it sailed back. It was amusing, and gave us a small view of Switzerland. Fortunately, we were back in the hotel in time for dinner!
