Today’s Pictures: 30 May 20

The idea here is to brighten the day for those people isolated indoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

And, as a contrast, a shot from our day trip around Lake Maggiore, Northern Italy, just as the sun was setting. This was taken September 2018, when we took a trip to Italy to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. During this trip, we also accidentally ended up in Switzerland for a couple of hours; unexpected, but very pleasant!

    1. It was due to a misunderstanding at the ticket office. We thought we’d asked for a trip around the lake but it turned out our tickets were ferry tickets to Locarno from our lakeside resort of Stresa. When the boat arrived, everyone got off, but we stayed put, until one of the ship’s officers popped up to the top deck and explained we’d have to leave the boat and then return when it sailed back. It was amusing, and gave us a small view of Switzerland. Fortunately, we were back in the hotel in time for dinner!
