The warmth and sunlight have now brought out the foxgloves to brighten the undergrowth in the forest.

The idea here is to brighten the day for those people isolated indoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This weeping willow on the banks of the River Wye at Tintern caught the sun as it was dropping behind the hill, throwing it into stark contrast. Taken April 2015.

    1. It does if we look, David. I’m always surprised by those people who don’t see it. One visitor, when we first brought her to our village home, said – ‘It’s all fields and trees, just green, isn’t it?’ The words of someone who had been a city dweller all her life.

    1. The willow was one of those serendipitous moments, Lynette. We’d crossed the river on a bridge and had a walk on the far side. On the way beck, the sun was just about to drop behind the high hills and caught this tree in a beam of light beforehand. A lucky moment for me!

    1. They’re out in force in the forest. We’ve been watching them slowly come up and they’ll now flower for quite a few weeks. Such a lovely contrasting colour to the green of the trees and bracken.
