Running for ME/CFS no. 50 and #Free Books

Raising money for  Action for M.E.

Charity Registration No. 1036419

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a disabling and chronic illness, devastating the lives of 250,000 people in the UK. Action for M.E. provides support and information for those touched by M.E., and campaigns for better services and invests in research to ultimately find a cure.

I’m taking part in the Great North Run, a half marathon that takes place on 13 September. Like most of the 57,000 participants, I’ve been training for a few months, following a programme that’s working well. I’m raising funds for Action For M.E., a charity that helped me out in a time of need.

These days, we’re all subject to many calls on our limited budgets. So I thought I’d offer you something by way of thanks for your donations. I’ve published 11 books. What I’m offering you is a free copy of any one of my ebooks. What’s the catch? There isn’t one. Even if you don’t have an ereader, there’s free software available to allow you to read ebooks on your phone, tablet, PC or Mac. Click on this link and it’ll take you to the site where you can download that software with no hidden obligations.

So, here’s the deal:

Make any donation by clicking here and following the easy instructions. An even easier route to donate £5 is to use your mobile phone and text ‘MESA76’ (without quotation marks) to 70070. Once you’ve made your donation, contact me by email at stuartkallison (at) gmail (dot) com. I’ll need the title of the book you’d like. My publisher, Dan Grubb of Fantastic Books Publishing, has generously agreed to join in this incentive. If you want one of my Fantastic Books Publishing books, click here to see the selection (Please note that the special offer pack of all 3 titles for ‘A Seared Sky’ isn’t available for this purpose, but each separate volume is, of course.) I’ll forward your email to Dan and he’ll send you the ebook of your choice in the digital format you prefer. For all my other books, just let me know the title and I’ll organise the free book for you through Smashwords. Click here to go to the full range available. Please note that I must exclude ‘Epitaphs’ and ‘Wrong’, as these weren’t published by me, but are anthologies to which I’ve contributed.

Dan and I will send out the books after the race is run (Please allow me a day or two to recover!). I intend to continue this free book policy for as long as donations come in. So, if you’d rather wait to see whether I manage to complete the run (I will), that’s fine. You won’t miss out. But it would be great if I could set off on 13th September knowing I’ve already reached my target of £500. So far, I’ve raised £135. Let’s see how much we can get together, eh? If you’ve already donated, many thanks: please contact me, as above, and I’ll add you to the list.

And don’t forget, you can also buy my book detailing my experience of ME/CFS and giving advice for sufferers and their carers and families, ‘M.E. and me; Chronic Fatigue: My Recovery After 10 Years‘, through the links on my ‘Published Works’ tab on this website. Half the profits go to the same charity.
