If you haven’t seen the show (BBC1 and variously repeated on other TV channels), you probably won’t get the best out of this amusing collection of facts, opinions, jokes and odd asides. But don’t let that stop you giving it a go.
It’s a well-written book. Lots of humour. Some of the ‘pointless’ items you’ll clap your hands over, give a thumbs-up, cry ‘Yeah!’, others you’ll muse over before deciding, and one or two you’ll probably disagree with on sight.
But it’s an entertaining read, giving as much insight to the lives and views of the presenters as it does to the topics listed. There’s also some of the idiosyncratic information the program supplies, much of it funny and some that might surprise you, depending on your level of knowledge, of course.
The book is one of those you can pick up and peruse during odd moments when you have a bit of ‘spare’ time. But it can just as easily be read a single sitting.
If you have a curious mindset, enjoy picking up random facts, can smile at the sometimes idiotic aspects of modern life, I think you’ll find this a rewarding diversion. I did.
