Just to update you, I last posted about the WIP on 25th March, here. At that time, the word count was 42,025. I’m now at 62,531, and still enjoying the creative process. The characters are mostly behaving themselves and, so far, I’m not having to allow for too many retrospective changes when I get to the editing stage. Working as a pantster often involves large editorial changes because the characters can wander off piste and change the direction of the story. So long as I manage to keep them moving toward the envisaged destination, I’m usually happy with the progress. But, once in a while, one of the minor characters can grow in stature and cause a significant re-write. So far, that hasn’t happened. If it does, it simply means I’ll need more time for the edit. On with the work.

I hope all continues to go well!

Thanks, Lynette. See my response to Noelle, below. But I’ve dealt with such barriers before. It’ll take time and effort, but I’ll get back on the road.

Thanks, Noelle. After writing the above, I suddenly hit a rather large bump in the road. Now I have to find a way to negotiate it. But I will, as I have in the past.
