How Goes the WIP, 7th April?

Just to update you, I last posted about the WIP on 25th March, here. At that time, the word count was 42,025. Iโ€™m now at 62,531, and still enjoying the creative process. The characters are mostly behaving themselves and, so far, Iโ€™m not having to allow for too many retrospective changes when I get to the editing stage. Working as a pantster often involves large editorial changes because the characters can wander off piste and change the direction of the story. So long as I manage to keep them moving toward the envisaged destination, Iโ€™m usually happy with the progress. But, once in a while, one of the minor characters can grow in stature and cause a significant re-write. So far, that hasnโ€™t happened. If it does, it simply means Iโ€™ll need more time for the edit. On with the work.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. After writing the above, I suddenly hit a rather large bump in the road. Now I have to find a way to negotiate it. But I will, as I have in the past.
