Our world is full of natural wonders. But some people ignore such beauty, some actively dislike it, and work to destroy the only world we’re able to inhabit.
These daily posts of words and pictures are my encouragement of joy in nature, hoping others may be inspired to share their appreciation of a planet that’s a marvel of unlikely coincidences.
We might be alone in the universe as a living species with sentience, but, equally, we might not. Regardless, we’re unlikely to meet, or even effectively communicate with, other existing sentient lifeforms, because the distances in time and space involved are so vast.
So, we must live as though we represent the only life form conscious of our existence and able to modify our environment. Whether we do that to benefit all life forms, or entirely selfishly in the mistaken and ultimately self-destructive belief we’re apart from nature, is a personal choice. History, science, and common sense demonstrate daily how intricately we’re part of nature. It seems foolish and self-defeating to ignore this simple fact.
