10,000 Comments on My Blog!

Is 10,000 comments some sort of milestone? I don’t know. But it seemed worth celebrating, so I thought I’d put up a photo of my published books in a stack. The picture in the background is of a modern sculpture depicting a man reading. I came across it in a park in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
Do you comment on blog posts? I always welcome feedback, suggestions, questions, and comments here. Your first one will be subject to a brief scrutiny related to the detection of spam. Once you’ve had one accepted, the rest will appear as soon as they’re posted. Enjoy!

    1. Well, Lynette, your own blog is enough for anyone to deal with. I’m truly grateful for your regular re-blogs and your comments. I don’t know where you find the time!

  1. Well hello there fellow Stuart! 10,000 posts is amazing indeed, and it’s always a good indicator of how you engage on your blog. I myself am a regular commenter, so I appreciate the number. Here’s to many more in your WordPress journey!

    1. Thanks, Marie. It struck me as a relatively high number, and I was looking for a reason to make a light post after all the storms we’ve been having and all the trouble in the world.

      1. You’re absolutely right – if covid – and the ominous news headlines – have taught us anything, it’s to relish those positive moments. Hope you avoided the worst of Dudley, Eunice and Franklin – apart from the high winds and rain, we got off relatively lightly here in Dublin compared to the West…

        1. Not too bad here, Marie, if you discount the power cuts! We took our daily walk in the forest today along the ‘main’ paths as our usual tracks are deep in mud from the heavy rain. On a 3.4 mile walk we encountered 5 fallen trees across our path. We usually carry secateurs to deal with such obstructions and we were able to pass through, round, or over the barriers. But I wouldn’t have liked to be feeble or frail!

    1. For a long time, Leon, I didn’t even realise I was getting spam – the WordPress system filters them out. I eventually noticed a folder with them in and started to delete them as ‘bulk’ deletes of 20 at a time. Took a long time to get rid of the lot, but I never bothered to count them!

        1. Oddly, I discovered that once I’d deleted them entirely, I’ve got very few since. And that suits me fine. Some of those spam links led to pretty questionable content!

    1. Thanks, Darlene. I discovered this number when approving a comment from a new follower. And it came as welcome news on a day when our power had been out for more than 4 hours! Good news can really warm your cockles, eh?
