Wide the skies of early summer
blue feathered with white puffs
of promised rain to come
for crops emerging from
flat furrowed fields
to make the food we crave

Thanks, Lynette. I thought I’d post a promise of the spring to come, and the wide open skies of East Yorkshire have always provided lively and attractive canopies for the fields there.

Love the sky. Sometimes it’s hard to see an expanse here because of all the trees!

It’s the same here in the Forest, Noelle. This shot was taken on a walk in our previous home of East Yorkshire, which is largely flat and agricultural.
