Pictures to inspire you to create with words or images. Poem, story, play, novel, memory, essay, painting, drawing, sculpture, or another photograph? Up to you. You can, of course, simply enjoy the pictures. My image is untitled to avoid directing you. But the title, sometimes not helpful, is here.
If you use the prompt, you can post a link to your work, or the work itself, in the comments section, if you want. Please credit me by linking to this post, to allow more people to see both our creations.
Have fun and get those creative juices flowing.
Sometimes, I’ll include my writing inspired by the image.

Beautiful and I am loving that gorgeous old tree on the right in your photograph. Lovely Stuart.

That’s one of the willows that line parts of the River Wye, Joni. They often give shelter to herons, swans and various ducks.

What an amazing shot and I immediately feel in love with that tree. ❤️

There are some lovely examples all along the banks. But most of the river valley is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which gives it some protection from development and over farming.

Thank goodness for that. That means it should be safe. ❤️

As safe as anything is with our current government, Joni. They’re a self-centred lot only interested in making a profit, so fingers crossed they’ll get voted out next election.

I think that is unfortunately true with most governments. Sending hugs and love to you and Valerie. 🤗❤️

I love this picture. Great shot. I love seeing the places where the water leaves dry patches and the small pools of water. Love the trees bordering the low river.

In the summer, Brenda, some people swim across to that little island and sunbathe there. In winter, it’s generally more or less under the water. Herons, swans and ducks often gather under those trees.

The River Wye in the Forest of Dean – so beautiful!

Well spotted, Lynette. It’s beautiful most of the time, but just occasionally it bursts its banks when heavy rains fall on the Brecon Beacons in Wales, which it flows through.

Thanks, girl with camera. I’m fortunate to live at a spot that merges with the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in south west England. This was shot at the end of the village where live.

It’s a privilege I never take for granted. To walk nearly every day in the forest is a wonderful gift.

How wonderful when new eyes view a scene familiar to the photographer. I can see why you see it as a flooded roadway, Thattamma, but it’s actually a river with a small island of silt growing in the middle. It flows past the end of our village and, in summer, people swim there and others canoe down it.
