It’s one of the advantages of a flat landscape, Lynette, as you’ll no doubt appreciate: you can really see the sky and it’s activity over the land. I spent many happy hours of my childhood and teens on this river bank, but this was taken on a relatively recent visit back there.

It is hard to tell if the weather is brewing up a storm or this was taken late in the day. To be honest, I prefer bright blue skies and fluffy white clouds that I can see puppies and bunnies, but the contrast of the dark clouds and the sandy beach is eyecatching. Thanks for posting.

It was taken on the Humber estuary, Brenda, which is a tidal river mouth about 2 miles wide at this point. The clouds are dropping rain on the far bank. I was on a visit to my childhood home at the time. Just a short distance from where this was taken is the Humber Bridge, which at the time it was built was the longest single span suspension bridge in the world.
