With the daily shot from my local forest, I’m including another shot, not always entirely ‘natural’, to provide a wider view of the world and its wonders.

If you share on social media, we’ll reach more people stuck indoors due to Covid-19. And, between us, we might restore some love and respect for nature and slow down the damage we inflict on our world. Thank you.

Enjoy my pictures? You’ll find my professional gallery, here. A small selection is also under the ‘Gallery’ tab at the top of this page.

Beautiful photos, especially the second one with the tender green beginnings (is it moss or leaf starts?).

Thanks, Lynette. The green in the second picture is a mix of moss, lichen, and ivy. The green sprouts of spring have yet to start appearing. We enter meteorological spring tomorrow, but overnight frosts will probably mean new shoots will wait another week or so, I guess!

New shoots in a week! It will be a while before we get those here.

And on our walk yesterday, Lynette, I came across some new growth just as we were returning home! Hope your spring arrives when it’s due.

Yes, fingers crossed. Our winter started early, so it’s starting to feel quite long now.

Love the branch with the leaves hangin’ on for dear life. And the River with the huge bolder standing watch!

Beech leaves tend to hang on until the spring when new ones come along to push them off to the ground. We have a beech hedge in our back garden; the leaves become quite brittle and rattle when the wind blows; lovely sound.
The boulder on the banks of the River Severn is one of a small number placed there, Brenda. But I don’t know why or by whom.
