‘[Walking] is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside.’ Elizabeth von Arnim
With the daily shot from my local forest, I’m including another shot, not always entirely ‘natural’, to provide a wider view of the world and its wonders.

If you share on social media, we’ll reach more people stuck indoors due to Covid-19. And, between us, we might restore some love and respect for nature and slow down the damage we inflict on our world. Thank you.

We miss so much in our rush to get from one place to another, Lynette. Walking can reveal so many otherwise unseen beauties, eh?

It certainly can.

It is interesting that it will only let me reblog after I post. Okay, but interesting.

Thanks, Brenda. No idea why it should work that way. On the odd ocasion I’ve reblogged a post on my site it’s been no problem. As you say, interesting.

Ahhh! A walk in the woods, and sailing away from our troubles! A nice dream. Thanks, Stuart. have a great walk and stay safe. Only one more week and we get our shots! Yay! We have already picked out an outside dining restaurant for some Mexican food.

That’s great news, Brenda. But make sure you wait the 3-4 weeks needed to build resistance before you venture out there! Here in UK, our programme of changes to the national lockdown mean we’ll be able to have our hair cut some time in April, go out for a meal in May, and, hopefully, begin to travel in June.

Sailing – right after swimming one of my favorite things to do!

I think you’re a water baby, Noelle.
I’ve done only a little sailing, on a lovely yacht owned by a teacher friend. Loved every moment of the experience.

It’s a freedom hard to explain – just the wind to move you!

I agree, relying on the elements and trying to control the craft as you flow through the wind and currents. Very like flying in a glider, which I also enjoy!
