‘Not all those who wander are lost.’ J.R.R Tolkien
This project shares our world’s natural beauty with everyone confined indoors due to Covid-19.

The more people who share these posts on social media with their friends and followers, the more people we’ll reach. It’ll also show them our wonderful world. Maybe, between us, we can restore some love and respect for nature and slow down the damage we inflict every day on our environment. Thank you.

That second photo could be a Tolkien backdrop!

I agree, Noelle, we call this part of the forest our ‘magical’ forest, as it exudes an air of mystery.

Right on, Shyamini. I usually have my camera with me on a walk. If it’s a short one, I at least have my smart phone.

Oh! You really relish those walks, inspirational enough to cardy your cameras. Great hobby.

I’ve been a photographer for 60 years, Shymini. Doubt I’ll give it up now!

Beautiful photos. I love the second one in particular – it seems that a mythological woodland creature could flit through or a Merry Man might be hiding nearby. Great quote.

Thanks, Lynette. We call this part of the forest, which we reach via a pretty steep climb, our ‘magical forest’. It has an air of mystery about it, and it’s a place you can wander freely between the trees without ever worrying about following paths.
Last time we were there, we witnessed nature in the raw, as a buzzard swept past low to the ground, a grey squirrel in its claws. Quite a sight.

I can understand why! It definitely has a magical atmosphere. If it’s protected by a steep climb, the animals are likely less disturbed and you can see more of those events. I bet it was a sight!

Apparently, it was used for a couple of scenes in films, Lynette: Star Wars and Harry Potter, I believe.

Thanks, Aiva. I’m trying to include a quote on walking along with each of the new posts in the series. This one taken from ‘Lord of the Rings’ is probably the most well-known so far. And thanks for the comment on the pictures. I’ll keep them coming.
