Today’s Picture: 21 Oct 20

Rain here all day today. Not the best weather for either walking or photography, though we’ll probably venture out when we spot a reduction in the amount of rain falling. I had to pop out earlier, however, and I’d been impressed by the colours in the trees bordering the local recreation ground, which I can see from my study window. I walked around the edge of the football field and captured what I could of those autumn colours with my phone. I present that here for you, along with a rather sunnier picture taken in Wales in September last year, especially for those who like a splash of water with their scenery.

If you’re visiting this blog, please be generous to those who can’t escape their own four walls at present, and share this post widely with them on social media, so they can enjoy it. It will also reach more people and hopefully remind them what a wonderful place this world is. Perhaps that might help restore some love and respect for nature and slow down our destructive urge to ruin the environment. Thank you.

    1. Thanks, Joni. It’s that time of the year for us. Mind you, we had a record amount of rain on 3rd October. Let’s hope we don’t have that again, but the climate emergency means we’ll get more and more extremes until we sort it.

      1. What do the two of you do for exercise when you can’t walk? I am afraid that everyone will have extreme weather (like you said) until we all start realizing what climate change is actually doing to our beautiful world. We are leaving a mess for our children. Sending love to you two. Hope you have a great weekend and some sunshine. Love ❤️ Joni

        1. We exercise indoors, Joni.
Extreme weather will become the norm for a while, I agree. Hopefully, it’ll make the doubters revise their opinion, but I’m not holding my breath on that. It’s the kids I feel sorry for. They’ll have to clear up our mess.
          Enjoy your weekend.

    1. Thanks, Lynette. I can see those trees from my study window as I write this. Already they have changed a little since yesterday. The sea around the picture taken in Wales is Carmarthen Bay, that leads into the Bristol Channel, which leads into the Atlantic.

      1. Still raining as I write this, Avni. Yes, it makes the flowers and trees grow, but it’s not a fun element to walk in. My only knowledge of Seattle is via the comedy show, Frasier, which I’ve always enjoyed. I gather from that, and your remark, it rains a lot there. We’re in the southwest of England, close to Wales, here, so we get the Atlantic weather much of the time, which does include a fair amount of rain. Like you, I enjoy the sun more.

        1. Indeed. Frazier? Hmm haven’t heard of it. It does rain a lot here!! Oh I’ve always wanted to go! Well, I hope the sun shines soon 🙂 💞

          1. Ah, you’re probably too young to know about Frasier (I mispelled the name first time!) starred Kelsey Grammer as a radio psychiatrist and was shown here in UK during the 2010s. He’d previously been a character in another American comedy, Cheers.
Sunshine here today. Hopefully you got some, too!
