If you’re confined indoors and unable to get out and enjoy nature, this series is for you. I’m aiming to brighten the days by posting pictures of natural beauty.
Spent most of today online for a Twitch TV event organised by my publisher, so our walk this morning was brief. Today’s picture was taken in July 2019, when we took my cousin and her husband out to show them some of the area.
If you’re a visitor to this site, and able to go where you like, perhaps you’ll do something for those less fortunate by sharing this widely, so others can enjoy it? Thank you.

What a beautiful area to show your cousin!

Symmons Yat Rock overlooks the Wye River valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a few miles from our home, Lynette. It’s a site beloved of bird watchers as it overlooks the nesting sites of several birds of prey, mostly Kestrels and Buzzards. The track to the top is a long, steep climb (you can cheat by driving up to the car park, but we like to see the wild places). It’s certainly worth the effort. And, for those who need it, there’s a log-cabin cafe just beside the car park. So it was an ideal place to take my city-dweller cousin and her husband, who have little experience of the rural life!

I would love to visit! I’m a real pushover for birds and can spend hours watching them. And a cafe! Always a nice reward after a steep climb. 🙂

It’s a real privilege to look down on birds of prey as they hunt, Lynette. Wonderful experience. And the food at the cafe is excellent!

The valley is serene, TasView, but the viewing platform from which this was taken can be a little crowded unless you pick your time. It’s a popular place!
