Books, writing, reading, words and images. I love them; do you?

Today’s Pictures: 27 July 20

The hidden gate, in the Forest of Dean

If you’re stuck indoors and unable to get out to enjoy nature at present, this series is for you. I’m trying to brighten the days by posting pictures of natural beauty.

River Swale waterfalls in Richmond in the Yorkshire Dales. The brown colour comes from peat bogs high in the hills.

If, on the other hand, you’re lucky enough to be free, maybe you’ll do what you can for those less fortunate, and share this widely, so others can enjoy it? Thank you.

That air conditioning will be a blessing, then. Our daughter lives in Darwin, which is in the tropics, and she says it’s absolutely essential.

I used to live in Phoenix, Arizona, where 50° wasn’t a shock. I remember one time crossing the tarmac to my airplane and my shoes were sticking to it slightly. I bet that Darwin is like that, too.

50C! Too darned hot for me. Mind you, Valerie is a ‘fur coat in the Sahara’ person, so she’d be fine with it. We’re expecting 24C here today and maybe 29C tomorrow. Just come in from the garden. Why is it when hard work is needed in the garden, the temperatures soar?

                    Oh yes, that’s always true!
Valerie would have been very comfortable with her fur coat today as we reached 40°. 😉 We sat outside in the shade for a bit, and it was really hot!
