A pair of trees stand as guardians either side of a footpath that runs along the hill above the valley where the village lies.
All over our wonderful world there are people who can’t get out and enjoy nature just now. Here, I’m trying to brighten the days for them by posting pictures of natural beauty.
I thought I’d make a change today, and give you a close-up instead of the usual landscape. These red anthers caught my eye in a public garden way back in October 2012.
If you get pleasure from this, please share it as widely as you can, so others can enjoy it, too. Thank you.
Ever since we first used this path (it leads down to the river at the bottom of the village) I’ve loved that pair of trees, they always seemed like friendly guardians of the path, Lynette.
The flower attracted me in a public garden, but I can’t recall where it was, or what the flower was. Ah, the vagaries of old age, eh?
Thank you so much for notifying me of this, Lynette. I’ve been to his post, enjoyed his story, and tweeted his post. It’s great to know when you’ve inspired another artist to create by posting something.
Book reviewer and garden enthusiast. Updates from my Hampshire garden. Usually talking about books and plants. People do not forget books or flowers that touch them or excite them—they recommend them.

I love the path guardian trees and the flower close-up. That colour is stunning.

Yes, so true. I have photos like that, too. Where was this? When was this? Sigh.
