Creative #Writing #Contests Table Updated

On the 1st of the month I remind followers here that the creative writing contest table has been updated. (I update it several times each month and I’ll be adding more details in the next few days, but this reminder is posted just once!) If you’d like to be reminded by email, please click the ‘Follow this blog’ button at the top of the right-hand column and give your details on the small form. Neither I, nor WordPress, will spam you, but you’ll receive a brief informative email each time I post.

You can access the table through the ‘Resources’ page, here.

Many contests are free to enter and offer great prizes, mostly of cash. Some seek unpublished or beginner writers. The table currently offers contests with entry dates from July 2020 to April 2021.

It’s best to submit entries in plenty of time for a chance to win spectacular prizes and some real kudos.

Please ignore moans about ‘paid for’ contests: while there are occasional scams masquerading as legit contests, most competitions are run by voluntary organisations with little money. Entry fees provide prizes and sometimes pay judges; usually professional people in the writing world whose time is precious.

Imagine the joy when you win! The cash and the kudos. And it won’t hurt your CV.

The table updates every time I save it, so whenever you visit, it’s as current as it is on my PC. You can access it by clicking here. Have fun and get some cash for your writing.

I spend hours of my precious time finding and updating this information, and I pay for some sources of information I pass on freely to you. If you want to help me keep producing this resource, please click the green ‘Buy me a Coffee’ button in the right-hand column of any tabbed page. Surprisingly, it’ll cost you the price of a coffee, or a little more if you’re feeling generous. Thank you very much!

The picture above is intended as inspiration. I’m a photographer as well as a writer and belong to Picfair, an organisation that believes photographers should be paid for their work. You can find the original of the picture above here. And my gallery of work on the site, here.

    1. Thanks Lynette. Yes, it’s bark. I came across it on an ancient tree stump that stands on the banks of the River Wye down at the end of our village. This is one of a series of pictures I took that I’m now turning into artworks, some with an ‘abstract’ approach. Glad you like it.
