Further Progress on the #WIP.

I last updated progress on 28th of October, so a little late with this one. Sorry. At that time, the first draft was up to 80,840 words and I’d started editing to include a new character and had got as far as chapter 14. The old word count was 33,454 and the new to that point had reached 35,232. I’m now about to start the new editing at chapter 18, with the current count to that point standing at 48420, an increase of 5297 on the previous state at that chapter.  The new character has meant substantial changes to the way the story’s presented, and that aspect, along with the need for quite a lot of further research, is taking up much of my time.

That’s apart, of course, from my addictive need to get involved in political, environmental, and religious debates online. Mind you, since I left Twitter and joined BlueSkySocial instead, that aspect has reduced, since there are far fewer negative, ill-informed, and ill-educated users on the new platform. If you’re still stuck on Twitter (X), you might like to come along and take a look. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. The site has increased to over 21,000,000 users now and seems to be gaining new users at a rate of around 1,000,000 a week at present.

I’m happy with the way the new narrative’s progressing, enjoying the altered slant for the story, so all is good, if a little slow.

I will try to keep you more fully informed over the coming weeks.
I have, of course, also posted a couple of previously published short stories here, as well as quite a few pieces on the Medium blogsite, including the #ScenicSaturday posts that used to appear here. More to follow.

    1. Yes, Lynette. That’s why I left behind 25k followers there and joined BlueSky. At the time, it was by invitation only, but it’s now free for all to join. But the members are quite able and willing to inform others of the trolls and extremist, producing easily used lists to allow sensible users to block the objectionable ones.
I’m already close to 900 followers there. It took 11 years to build the following on Twitter.
