#ScenicSaturday 27th April 2024:

This continuing series of posts depicts our beautiful world, encouraging viewers to share them and help save our unique home from human carelessness and indifference.
Today’s photo depicts the village of Burnsall in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. This area in the north of England is a National Park and is considered by many to be the best walking country in Europe. Having lived in the area for a few years, I can appreciate how that reputation came about. The countryside is varied in terms of terrain, land usage and height. There are river valleys, many with spectacular waterfalls, hills to provide wide panoramic views, and charming little villages built in local stone. The people who live in the area are generally friendly, too. Definitely worth a visit.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. We lived in the market town of Settle in the Dales for a few years, but moved due to work. It’s wonderful walking country. In fact many people say it’s the finest walking country in Europe (but they’re probably from Yorkshire!)
