My photos in this continuing set of series depict our beautiful world in the hope of encouraging viewers to share them and help save our unique home from human carelessness.
Today’s photo is a seasonal shot from the Forest of Dean, mist clouding the spaces between the trees on a track that curves by a functioning quarry. It’s part of a regular trek for us that gives us the option to walk anything from 3 miles to about 8, depending how energetic we’re feeling.

I love the fog and what a great job Stuart. Just beautiful. Sending you and your love big hugs my friend. ✨❤️✨

Thanks, Joni. The mist is very short-lived here, normally, so you have to be there at the right time to capture it. Love to you and yours, too.

Love the mist – very ethereal!

Thanks, Noelle. It’s often very transitory, too – have to get out at just the right time to capture it before it vanishes.

Classic shot Stuart.
Brings to mind the title of a 1971 psychological thriller film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood – PLAY MISTY FOR ME.
If that was in Australia that ‘mist’ would be smoke from a raging bushfire.

Thanks, Glen. We’ve been fortunate here in England. Although we had a spell of around 3-4 months without rain, we managed to escape the fires. We were very aware of the Australian forst fires as our daughter is married to an Aussie and lives in Canberra.

Thanks, Denise. Your comment reminds me of my days selling binoculars in a shop I managed decades ago. The Irishman who was the previous manager always had a short saying for customers as he cleaned the lenses of binoculars before sales, ‘You can’t be optimistic with a misty optic’.
