The Sea and Little Fishes, by Terry Pratchett: #BookReview.

I’m sure I once read a Terry Pratchett book, but judging by my records it must have been many years ago. I read this book largely because of his reputation; I could do with some laughter in this awful world we currently inhabit.

Fortunately, I found the humour I needed. But it’s an intelligent humour, gently poking fun without today’s tendency toward cruelty when seeking a laugh. Refreshing to come across a writer who can bring a smile, grin, and even a laugh out loud response to the antics of his creations without feeling the need to belittle others.

The story has enough twists and turns to explore and reveal the characters in all their glory, and the events and actions are combined to take full comic advantage of the oddities and foibles of these people.

Terry was a master storyteller, and I shall definitely be reading more of his work once I’ve ploughed through the sixty-odd titles in my TBR list!

  1. This was so good! It’s very relatable and has the right amount of humorous elements. I loved this!
Will definitely check out other books by the same author

    1. In a world so beset with problems, Lynette, it is refreshing to read something reflective that allows us to laugh. Humour is a powerfult ool in the hands of the expert practitioner, and Terry Pratchett was certainly that.
