The research (see the post from 9th July), apart from those unexpected oddities that make you check the occasional detail, is done. I began the re-write at the beginning of the week. It quickly became clear that merely editing the first draft would not create the book I first envisaged. So, I have started again from the beginning. There are parts of the original I’ll be able to incorporate, but much of the WIP will be new material and it will be better for that. I’ve so far written 6 chapters and reached 11,749 words. And I’m much happier with the result.
So, watch this space for updates. I’m unsure how long it will take me to complete this new ‘first draft’, but I will do it to the best of my ability. I want this to be the best thing I’ve ever written.
