#Words and #PictureOfTheDay: 05/Mar/22

Sunlight dapples the track
and the hillside centuries
of carting and feet
have worn into it
trees tall and straight
rise in welcome to their
wilder wandering cousins
who spread out their limbs
in search of lifegiving light.

A few of my pictures appear in the Gallery.
And you’ll find many more here for use in book covers, calendars, greetings cards, jigsaws, advertising, or anything else you fancy in print or online, or as art quality prints to decorate your home or office.

    1. Thanks, Lynette. It’s a frequent part of several of our walks. It never fails to impress how nature can override the effects of industrialisation and effectively wipe them out, leaving little evidence of man’s activity on the land. But it’s only about 80 years since this track was in use to transport coal and stone!
