#Words and #PictureOfTheDay: 28/Feb/22

Another month closes, ending the meteorological winter of the UK and summoning the sunshine of the coming spring. A welcome change following a time of necessary restriction, incompetent governance, divisive political moves, and threats of war.
So I give you a picture of hope for better weather, better places, better times to come. The sunset here is from an isolated Greek taverna, the Paradiso, high in the coastal mountains on the island of Crete, taken in a summer some years ago when such trips were easy.
Enjoy!

A few of my pictures appear in the Gallery.
And you’ll find many more here for use in calendars, greetings cards, jigsaws, advertising, or anything else you fancy in print or online, or as art quality prints to decorate your home or office.

    1. Thanks, Noelle.
When I wrote this piece, earlier in February, the signs of the coming Russian invasion of Ukraine were just appearing. Of course, since then events have overtaken the predictions, but there remains a threat of wider war, with the megalomaniac dictator, Putin, now threatening the use of nuclear weapons. We can but hope the world will unite against this utterly uncaring, self-centred narcissist and ensure his downfall. After which, perhaps the nuclear powers might re-assess the real worth of their weapons of mass destruction and begin the process of dismantling them. But I won’t be holding my breath regarding that!
