I would love to be in the pool at the bottom of that waterfall!

It’ll be very deep, cold, as it’s in Yorkshire, and the water would be very ‘soft’, so you’d definitely love it, Noelle!

Given the Australian summer heat I and everyone else is enduring right now over here, what I’d give to be at the bottom of that waterfall being ‘showered’ with icy-cold fresh creek water. In fact just planting that idea in my mind is already starting to make me cooler. Or is that the air-con switch I just flicked!? Maybe it’s both!

Aye, Glen. My daughter is in Canberra, so I keep an eye on your weather. Mind you, we’re currently ‘enjoying’ temperatures more typical of May here at present. But I suspect most people remain unaware of the real consequences of climate change and its causes. Time will tell, of course. but will humanity realise before it’s too late for our species, and several million others?

I agree with Leon, it is impossible to be unhappy looking at waterfalls. This one in the woods is even more impressive. Thanks for posting.

Thanks, Brenda. This one we came upon almost by accident, discovering a sign for it while walking in the Yorkshire Dales. It turned out to be less than easy to reach and impossible to picture other than from the viewpoint I used, where I had to cling to a nearby tree to prevent myself falling over into the fast flowing water below. But well worth the effort.

Can one be unhappy looking at a waterfall? I don’t think so.

I agree, Leon. They combine the wonder of natural forces with an appreciation of the beauty of motion, sound and fluidity in the landscape. They always raise my spirits.
