Pictures to inspire words and images. Perhaps a poem, painting, story, play, novel, drawing, memoire, essay, sculpture, or a new photograph? Up to you. Or just enjoy the pictures. My images are untitled to avoid direction. But, if you want it, the title, not always helpful, is here.

A water channel! An impressive shot, especially in b and w.

I thought the subject suited monochrome treatment, Lynette, although the original is a colour shot.

Interesting picture in black and white. I was sure it was a man-made waterway, but until you explained was “in the dark” about its purpose. I could see it was not deep waterway. Thanks for posting.

There are a few man-made, concrete-lined water courses in the forest, Brenda. We sometimes come upon them in the most unexpected places; reminders of the long-past industrial history of the place.

Taken on a dull winter day, Noelle, this is a chute draining excess water from a small lake in the forest. The small building at the bottom of the slope is a pump house used to disperse the water along a course where it will cause least flooding.
