Lovely picture! There’s so much to see, will need time. I see a serene path with light filtering through the tree leaves. The fallen tree gives the serene a little kick in the but and it looks like I see a pool of water at the very right of the path. Thanks for an interesting shot.

The pool is a local fishing pond, Brenda, though we rarely see anyone fishing there. The fallen tree is an old specimen of a type that doesn’t live as long as many others. It’s gone now, taken by someone with a chain saw for firewood, no doubt.

Such a beautiful, serene forest.

Yes, Lynette. Serene is a great description. We can sometimes walk for miles without encountering another human being. Wonderful!

The greens look so peaceful. And I feel bad for the fallen tree. But it’s ok if it’s naturally. I think that’s how life is. I love trees a lot. They are so beautiful. One of the most important assets of the nature. And they add up to the natures beauty by it’s different shades. May it be greens or different shades of autumn.

It’s quite an old tree, Girl with camera, and of a type that doesn’t live as long as some. I also love trees; it’s why we chose to come and live in the forest when I retired. A beautiful place, and an excellent location for a photographer!

It’s indeed a treat for photographers to get to live in a place surrounded by nature. And you are living in such a wonderful place. I wish someday atleast for sometime I too want to live in a place surrounded by nature and not buildings. My camera storage won’t be enough to capture the beauty of nature!

Yes, the city can be vibrant and full of variations, but the countryside also changes, almost every day, and the variety of subjects, spanning the range from wide landscapes to macro shots on the smallest creatures and plants, is both stimulating and enjoyable.
Re the camera storage; many have the facility for a memory card: mine has a 64GB card installed that allows me to take up to 1800 24Mb pictures, and I have a spare. I generally download the pics to my PC once or twice a week and then reformat the card for fresh shots.

True that! A photographer really needs to be organized with his or her captured photos.

I have around 27,000 digital photos and 10,000 film negatives, so I have to have some sort of organisation, otherwise I’d never find a thing!

When a tree falls in the forest, Thattamma, it may be left for some time until somebody reports it to the Forestry Commission. This one was across a path running beside a fishing pond, which is rarely used these days. It’s a quiet place, well off the beaten track, but I reported it to the necessary people and it’s now been cleared. Many of the trees in the forest are very old and some collapse when we have windy weather combined with rainfall to soften the ground. It’s all part of the natural world we occupy.

Easy to make that mistake, Thattamma, especially when you can only see a small portion of the water. The pond is often almost covered by water lilies, but at this time a lot of the surface was visible.
