Today’s #PictureOfTheDay and #writingprompt: 28/Sept/21

Pictures to entertain, bring joy, and inspire you to create with words or images, if you wish. Whether that’s a poem, story, play, novel, memory, essay, painting, drawing, sculpture, or another photograph is up to you. Don’t feel obliged: you can just enjoy the pictures. My image is untitled to avoid directing anyone. If you need to know, the title is here.

I’d love to know if you use the pictorial prompt. You can post a link to your work, or the work itself, in the comments section, if you want. If you use my image, please credit me in the form of a link to this post. That way, more people will see both our creations.

The idea is to have fun and get those creative juices flowing.

From time to time, I’ll include something I’ve written, inspired by the image.

To see a selection of my pictures, look in my Gallery or for even more, here.

    1. Ah, but all part of the cycle, Brenda. Without the fall of leaves, the new plants would be robbed of their food. New life springs from the dying vegetation, bringing a promise of renewal in the next spring.

  2. Lovely Stuart, Fall has come to the forest. Is it very chilly here in the morning and then in the seventies. The weather is perfect. Are you and Valerie still walking through the forest. 🤗❤️💕🦋😘Big hugs to you both.

    1. Ah, your seasons are marching more rapidly than ours, Joni. We still have full green on most trees, and the weather is growing wetter and windier and a little cooler, but not yet cold. We’re still walking in the trees, though the last week has seen us in other places, of which more later on here!
This shot was taken last year.

        1. I know what you mean, Joni. Today, I felt overwhelmed by information, most of it unwelcome, so I’m writing a piece on that subject, which I may post tomorrow.

            1. Hoping to have that ready to post this afternoon, Joni. This morning was spent with a FaceTime chat with our daughter and her husband, followed by a walk in the forest, getting home just before the forecast rain really started!

    1. I love the colours of autumn, Noelle. So often it’s the reds and golds that get the attention, but I was drawn to this subtle collection on the path.
