Today’s #PictureOfTheDay and #writingprompt: 08/Sept/21

Pictures for your entertainment, joy, and, if you like, to inspire you to create something with words or images. Whether that’s a poem, story, play, novel, memory, essay, painting, drawing, sculpture, or another photograph is up to you. But please don’t feel obliged: you can simply enjoy the pictures. I’ve deliberately left the image untitled to avoid directing anyone. But, if you feel the need to know, the original with its title is here on my Picfair site.

If you use the pictorial prompt, I’d love to know. You’re welcome to post a link to your work in the comments section, or the work itself, if you wish. If you use my image in your own work, please credit me in the form of a link to this post. That way, more people will see both our creations.

The idea here is to have fun and get our work known as widely as possible.

From time to time, I’ll include something I’ve written, inspired by the image.

    1. Thanks, Lynette. It was taken in spring, when the foxgloves were just starting to emerge. Now, only the very last remnants of those colourful flowers remain, and the bracken is slowly starting to turn brown. But most of the trees retain their summer foliage, with just a few splashes of yellow among the younger birches.

    1. We had a lot of very good weather in spring here, Brenda. This trail descends along the side of a narrow valley with an inaccessible stream at the bottom, tantalisingly glimpsed as you walk down. It’s very steep, but always worth the effort.
