They knew how to build them so the last!

England is a most interesting place. I love the small bridges over streams and the lush greenery. Thanks for posting.

These bridges were built centuries ago to carry horses across the rivers, Brenda. These days they carry cars and even lorries. A testament to the building quality of those ancient craftsmen.

Lovely.

Thank you, Lynette. These narrow stone bridges, all pretty ancient, are fairly common in the Yorkshire Dales, but not many are as easily pictured as this one.

I really hope to get back to the UK some time to visit of course, but also to do some photography. It may take a while with this wretched virus, though. Fingers crossed it doesn’t mutate into something worse (a serious concern here because our neighbour has such a low vaccination rate and the delta variant is just stewing along). Cheers.

Yes, travel is still significantly reduced by Covid. We won’t get abroad this year, and our daughter, who got married in Australia a couple of weeks ago, doesn’t expect to be able to get back here until Xmas 2022 at the earliest.
On a connected note, my latest novel, which I’ll be posting about here soon, deals with a more lethal variant of Covid as one of its themes, alongside climate issues. Due for publication soon.
