You captured the moon well! I try, but I get a white dot all the time.

So much depends on exposure and focal length of the lens. Most ‘auto exposure’ systems can’t cope with the special requirements of astronomical subjects. And the focal length of most normal cameras are way too short to give a larger image. I took this one at the full extent of my zoom lens, and even then, the image was quite small in the frame. You really need specialist equipment to get a large image on a camera. I used to sell astronomical telescopes years ago, and they give wonderful results, but that was a long time before digital photography came on the scene!

This photo is stunning. It really conveys a sense of the spare vastness.

You may address me either way. I agree with you that Stuart does indeed have the eye for getting the best shot.

This is a great picture of the moon, many pictures have been taken, but it is extremely difficult to get the clarity that you got. Thanks for posting.

I don’t have the ‘right’ gear to capture the moon as an astronomical object, Brenda. But I do have centuries of experience as a photographer, so know how to get the best out of what I have, I think. In this particular case, I wanted to set the moon as a lone object surrounded by an apparently empty black sky to suggest the sense of isolation that might be felt if one were to live on that sterile ball of rock that gives so much life and light to our planet.

Dear Time Traveler of Life,
I concur with you regarding this phot. Stuart certainly has a way with photography!
Dear Stuart,
Being a poet, artist, musician, researcher, writer and a lover of moon myself, I would like to entertain, inspire and resonate with you through my most animation-intensive post presented to you as a courtesy of my dramatic attempt to bring the Full Moon alive, so to speak, in the form of Music Animation with Dynamic Visualization presented in high definition and imbued with a scintillating full moon surrounded by eye-catching astronomical phenomena and stellar activities!
The post has been expanded to contain twelve poetic stanzas constituting my rhyming poem entitled “If My Name Were Moon Tonight…“.
This post has not only been extended but has also been improved from top to bottom. It is now covered in animations throughout.
In order to see all of the animations, please make sure that you view the post on my blog and not via the WordPress Reader. Please enjoy to your heart’s content the mixed-media offering of “If My Name Were Moon Tonight…” and its beautifully rendered Music Animation with Dynamic Visualization on the big high-resolution screen of your desktop or laptop computer. Switch the video playback to full-screen mode. The animation starts calmly and will gradually climax.
There is also the opportunity to savour my own rendition of “Clair de Lune” recorded on the organ.

I am very curious about what you think and look forward to receiving your feedback there.
May you and Time Traveler of Lif find the rest of 2021 very much to your liking and highly conducive to your writing, reading, thinking and composing whatever posts that take your intellectual fancy or show off your imaginative flight, with or without the power and allure of the Moon!
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

Thanks for this. I especially enjoyed your rendition of Clair de Lune. Beautifully done. The post is so comprehensive and full, I’ll have to visit it again to appreciate the full content. Meantime, I’ve tweeted a link to my followers. Thank you for this.

I’m beta-reading another writers book at present, quite demanding on time and concentration, so it’ll be a little while before I get back. But I enjoyed my brief visit.

I took the time to go and listen and watch your video. I loved it. The music was soft and the animation exceptional and blended with the sound. I admit I closed my eyes momentarily just to listen. Thanks for posting the link.

Needless to say, I would be grateful if you could be so kind as to copy and paste your previous comment about my bespoke and animated post entitled “If My Name Were Moon Tonight…with Clair de Lune” to the comment section of my said post, to which your comment clearly pertains and also belongs. Thank you in anticipation.
As you can see at my said post, Stuart has already submitted his lovely comment there.

Please pardon my typo. I meant “photo”, not “phot”.

And perhaps I should have addressed you as Brenda rather than Time Traveler of Life.

Sound Eagle adressing me as Brenda or time traveler of life is acceptable. Thanks for posting, and Stuart thanks for posting also.
