A good choice, Brenda. Let’s hope you manage a trip to our interesting continent.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the colosseum, and I found it very interesting (I was fortunate enough to have a private tour with a small group of others) but I don’t need to go back. I love Italy’s smaller cities and rural areas.

We also toured with a small group, Lynette. And there was a meeting of UN Youth on the stage at the time (You can see their flags in the distance).
It was part of a weddding anniversary tour of Italy, where we took in Rome, Pompeii, Florence, and Lake Maggiore in the mountains to the north. A wonderful stay with great food, friendly people, and fascinating historical sites and lovely countryside.

What a lovely way to spend your anniversary! I hope we are able to go to Italy again in the north-too-distant future.

Not-too-distant. Yikes. I might have “north” stuck to my brain!

I’m surprised your brain isn’t frozen, Lynette. But I suffer from the same sort of problem – I blame the keyboard, since it can’t answer back!
If you do get back to Italy, I hope you manage to get to Pompeii, too. It’s a fascinating place. And the Italians are now considering putting a retractable floor into the Collosium, so a return trip to Rome might be worthwhile after 2023 when they hope to have the new floor in place. You can satnd where the gladiators fought, then!

Me too, Stuart. We still have snow on the ground. Melting, yes, but still hanging around (will also tell you how much of it we had).
Thanks for the heads up on the new developments!

You’re welcome, Lynette.
Now it’s May, we’re having our ‘March winds’, and our ‘April showers’, but no snow I’m pleased to report.

No snow is best, at least til December!

I’ve always wanted to see this – maybe in a few years when Italy is not so ravaged by the pandemic!

Definitely worth visiting, Noelle. But see my comments to Brenda below.

Sorry, I just now saw the caption. I thought that was of the colosseum but have only seen distance views of the outside.

It’s well worth a visit, Brenda. But be careful to get proper tickets. There are a number of people trying to take advantage of the unwary! A very interesting place to tour.

Thanks for posting. Since I have never been to Europe, a suggestion would be to caption pictures for us un-traveled. I think I know where this was taken, but not sure.
