Today’s Pictures: 26 Apr 21

This series of photographs from our local forest will finish at the end of April, by which time I’ll have posted almost 1,000 of my pictures in this series. For the last few days, I’m adding others from my collection from the forest, and one other each day to show more of the world and its wonders.


From May onwards, I intend to replace this daily series with single photos from my professional files, as the pictures have brought joy to many. The new series will be a real mix of subjects I’ve enjoyed picturing over the years. No captions. No information. I hope you’ll enjoy them, comment where you wish, and continue to share them with your online friends and followers.

    1. The forest is generally peaceful, Anneli. We often walk with the only sounds our footsteps, the songs of birds in the trees, the wind blowing softly through the boughs, and sometimes a small brook tinkling over rock falls. It’s a place of real spiritual uplift.

        1. I agree, Anneli. It’s one of the many human habits that separates us from nature. If only these people would take the trouble to listen to the natural sounds, they would truly benefit, and so would the environment.

  6. Once again we walk among the trees and marvel at Mother Nature’s beauty. Of course, a day at the beach ain’t so bad. I am a part hermit and prefer fewer people to interact with most of the time. I will miss our walks, but onward to bigger and better things. Thanks for posting.

      The beach shot is from Crete, and a day spent sailing just off the coast, with an opportunity to dive off the vessel and swim in the warm Med. There was an organised barbeque, and this final visit to the beach, wher everyone was rowed ashore in a small boat. Not the ideal scenario for us, but we had our daughter and her friend with us on that holiday, and, as young teenagers, they had different wants and needs from us. But a good experience for all that.
