The soft forest floor.
‘Wary after her last encounter with a real man in a town, she walked hesitantly down the hill toward the deserted highway, constantly glancing over her shoulder.’
Stuart Aken, The Methuselah Strain
Daily shots from our walks in the local forest will continue here for a little while longer. And I’m adding another from my collection of pictures to show more of the world and its wonders. I may replace this series with a series of single pictures from my files, once it has run its course.
If shared on social media, more people will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of our world, so please do that if you can. Thank you. We might also restore a bit of love and respect for nature and help slow the damage we’ve inflicted on our world.

All photographs here are my own, unless otherwise credited. More of my pictures can be found here. And a small sample of my work lives under the ‘Gallery’ tab, top of this page.
I was thinking the same thing as Lynette, about the quotes.
Also, I wanted to add that this photo makes a very nice header image.

Thank you, Anneli. I’ve been thinking of changing my FB header pic, and I agree, this one will do well there.

The floor of the forest looks soft enough to lay down and sleep forever! But of course, that would not be a good idea. Maybe just for an afternoon. The English countryside is always beautiful with its simplicity of style.

You’re right, Brenda. The ground is soft enough to lie on. Pleasant on a summer’s day, but a tad cool at present!
We discovered a Buzzard’s nest today on our way up to this part of the forest. Great to watch such birds of prey in flight.

Beautiful captures, Stuart. I appreciate the quotes you take the time to find and include every day.

Thank you, Lynette. I thought they would be a suitable accompaniment for the pics. Took a little longer to find them all than I anticipated, but worth the effort, I hoped.
