A track through a damp patch passes a felled tree in the forest.
‘When the spring stirs my blood
With the instinct to travel,
I can’t get enough gravel
On the old Marlborough Road.’
Henry David Thoreau
Daily shots from our walks in the local forest will continue here for a short time. And I’ll add another from my collection of pictures to show more of the world and its wonders. But these posts take up valuable writing time, and can be an irritation to readers who follow my posts for information about my books and writing, so I will stop them eventually.
If shared on social media, more people will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of our world, so please do that if you can. Thank you. We might also restore a bit of love and respect for nature and help slow the damage we’ve inflicted on our world.
A lone tree awaits the coming spring in East Yorkshire.
All photographs here are my own, unless otherwise credited. More of my pictures can be found here. And a small sample of my work lives under the ‘Gallery’ tab, top of this page.
I always enjoy these photographs.

Me, too, Lynette. I’m inevitably drawn to them. This one was not too far from where we used to live in East Yorkshire.

Your recent reblogs seem to be leading to a blank page, Brenda. Not sure what’s happening there, but thought I should alert you.

Love your walks in the wood paths. It is always interesting to see the different trees and types of paths. This time a lonely tree waiting for company.

It’s from this path, Brenda, that we found the open area with the old trees in the post from 2nd April.
Lone trees in the landscape always catch my eye.
