With the daily shot from my local forest, I’m including another shot, not always entirely ‘natural’, to provide a wider view of the world and its wonders.

A walk by the river

If you share on social media, we’ll reach more people stuck indoors due to Covid-19. And, between us, we might restore some love and respect for nature and slow down the damage we inflict on our world. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, Lynette. That picture was taken on the other side of the river (Inaccessible at present due to flooding!) in Wales, as the River Wye forms the border between England and Wales at this place. It’s a pleasant walk under normal circumstances, and one we hope to repeat when the river level drops again.

  3. I love all your pictures of your private forest, but this one with the boulders under the trees and the moss is a favorite. Would love to walk that path with the trees waiting for spring to leaf out and provide shade. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks, Brenda. This old quarry is off the normal track, and we wandered into it to explore after we’d disturbed a rather large black wild boar, which fortunately ran away as we passed the place it was lurking in hidden by briars and bracken.

    1. Thanks, Denise. We ventured into this abandoned quarry while on a regular walk where we very occasionally come across some local wildlife. This time, we’d just disturbed a rather large black wild boar. Fortunately, it ran away from us!

        1. It was well gone by the time I took this, Denise. But we were glad the event had persuaded us to explore this old quarry, which was only a short way off one of regular routes but mostly hidden from view.
