Autumn has arrived here. The top picture is from today’s walk in the forest, this part on one of the old forest roads no longer in use for motorised traffic; the most it sees is a few mountain-bikers, the occasional horse rider, and a few dog walkers and others, like us, who enjoy the peace in the forest. A grey day, but the seasonal colours bring brightness. The fence at the left-hand side borders the large enclosure where a family of beavers has been introduced in an effort to prevent the brook from flooding the village. So far, their work on dams seems to be doing the job!

The other picture is from the series I took at Cannop Ponds a week or so ago.
If you’re visiting this blog, please be generous to those who can’t escape their own four walls at present, and share this post widely with them on social media, so they can enjoy it. It will also reach more people and hopefully remind them what a wonderful place this world is. Perhaps that might help restore some love and respect for nature and slow down our destructive urge to ruin the environment. Thank you.

Thanks, Lynette. I love the variety that autumn brings. Each day in the forest can be different, as the leaves change colour and fall or are blown from the trees by stronger winds. We walked through a veritable blizzard of leaves this morning. Wonderful!

Very beautiful photos. I was not sure whether it was a painting or a real photo.

Thank you, Arta. It does have a painterly aspect, doen’t it? The autumn colours bring that ‘oils’ look to some pictures.

Yes, exactly. That is what I thought too.
