Trying to brighten the day for those people isolated indoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A slight change today. One picture of a walking route and another showing one of the ferns that grow in the forest. This is called a ‘male fern’. There is also a ‘lady fern’, which is more delicate and has more deeply-toothed segments. Both names are misleading, of course, since all ferns are bisexual. But it’s likely the botanists who named them originally didn’t possess that knowledge at the time.

If you get pleasure from this, please share it, so others can enjoy it, too. Thank you.

The light on the fern has produced such an interesting zebra pattern.
Lovely photos. 🙂

It looked so striking in the patch of sunlit shade, Lynette, I just had to picture it.

Stuart, your photos are beautiful. I am especially fond of the Fern, the lights
playing and giving such variety of green.
I planted one a week ago and intend to have a corner with mixed ferns.

Thank you, Miriam. The forest is full of ferns and bracken. This one happens to be growing close to the edge of one of our frequent paths and the sunlight broke through the canopy for long enough to allow this picture. They’re fascinating plants (and some of the oldest living things on Earth). Good luck with your fern corner.
