My photos here show the often-fragile beauty of our world. My hope is they will encourage viewers to act in ways that will help save it from the destruction we humans constantly cause to nature.
This one is of a calm sea under a rising moon shortly after sunset on the south coast of England. I was taken by the simplicity of the shot in a world we have rendered so complex, even chaotic. It seems humans just have to complicate things. We form tribes for no better reason than we wish to be seen to be different from some other group. We create states to claim regional resources and then make war on those who claim the same rights to their own stolen region. We used to consider ourselves the most sophisticated, advanced, intelligent species on the planet. But when we look at what we have done with those natural resources and evolved gifts of thought and reason, can we really continue to believe we are the best of life on this tiny blue marble speeding through the enormity of space?

I post these every Saturday, but also post one at the end of each day, with the hashtag #ourworldiswonderful, on FaceBook and on Twitter. Join me there if you wish.

That is a stunning photo, Stuart! I really like the simplicity of this type of capture. Agreed – itās calming in comparison to our chaotic, overly-busy, greed-driven world. I recently watched a documentary that I think you would be interested in seeing:

Thank you, Lynette. The link unfortunately doesn’t work, but I think that’s something to do with WordPress. No matter, I was able to tag it to view later, as I’m about to sign off for the day now, and will look at it tomorrow.
