And we probably would have, Lynette, if not for the missing back support, and some slightly prickly flowers growing through the seat slats! But it was pretty all the same.

This makes me think of fields back home in Maine. Seems a shame to have the bench abandoned. Thanks for posting.

We came across this as we took a footpath from a small village in southern England, Brenda. It was clear it hadn’t been used for years and, like you, I thought it sad that it had been forgotten on this rarely used trail. You can see by the lack of any obvious way through the wild flowers that the track has not been used much. We found our way okay, though.
It was the juxtaposition of the thriving wild flowers in the meadow and the neglected bench that caught my eye.
