‘A lone walker is both present and detached, more than an audience but less than a participant. Walking assuages or legitimizes this alienation.’ Rebecca Solnit
With the daily shot from my local forest walks, I’m including another shot of the wider world, not always entirely ‘natural’, to satisfy those who love to see some water in the pictures.

Share these posts on social media with friends and followers and we’ll reach more people. It’ll also show off our wonderful world. Who knows, between us, we might even restore some love and respect for nature and slow down the daily damage we inflict on our environment? Thank you.
If you enjoy my pictures, you’ll find many more in my professional gallery, here. A small selection is also available via the ‘Gallery’ tab at the top of this page.
You live in a wonderful place 😍😍😍

I agree, Amleta. We feel very fortunate to be here, especially during this Covid lockdown, as we are able to walk in the forest every day from our front door.

Thanks, Joni. It was a fleeting period. There’ll be others, but all are likely to be short-lived, so I’ll have to be quick to capture them.

Light snow, Lynette. And it lasted just a day. Not like your frozen north!

Ours hangs around for a while. 😉
I wanted to comment further on how much this photo looks painting-like. I’ve been struck by that – despite the snow, it has a very warm quality.

It is quite painterly, isn’t it? Perhaps a John Constable? I think it’s the quality of the light that lifts it, Lynette. Thank you.

Love the trees dressed for a party. The first snowfall was always more beautiful than later when the branches were laden with heavy icy snow. Of course, you know we all love the water scenes.

We don’t get heavy snowfalls here, Brenda, so there’s rarely any ‘laden’ branches. But that gentle blanketing does bring light to the views.

Today the snow picture really got me!

We get snow only rarely, Noelle, and it tends not to last, so it’s a matter of getting out there and capturing it while it lies. Glad it appealed.
