Having realised the potential for some great sightseeing from the water of the large lake, we decided to take a boat trip on our second day.

A boat trip is such a smart way to take in the big Lake District waters — seeing a place from the water gives you (and in our case, the kids) a completely different sense of scale than the shore ever does. And “life got in the way” between parts one and two might be the most relatable travel-blogging confession there is. Off to read the rest.
