Another Great #Review for An Excess Of…

Here’s another lovely review for my latest novel, posted to Goodreads.

Aithal Aithal’s review

really liked it

This book is not just a story but a very thought-provoking piece of work. Several times, I found myself nodding in agreement. The subject matter is interwoven as the story progresses. Stuart Aken masterfully makes the reader feel on an island surrounded by a turbulent sea. The story begins with a transoceanic travel adventure that throws six people with diverse backgrounds on an island. To say that each one has a diverse background is an understatement. These characters come from different religions and have different ideologies and ways of thinking.

Most readers will be able to relate to the main character. Although they may not agree on ALL her issues, they can easily agree with most.

This book is a wake-up call that will leave you wondering about humankind’s harmful effect on Mother Nature.

And, if you’d like to read it, you’ll find it here: Enjoy!

    1. Thanks, Lynette. I share these reviews as they are often the only way other potential readers ever learn anything about a book, as there are around 2 million new titles published every year! So difficult to reach new readers with that forest of books to choose from, eh?

  1. Nice review Stuart. You and I both did lots of scientific research for our books that tells me you probably thought he made some great points. Thank you. Hope you and Valerie are staying safe, please be careful. Big love to you both. ❤️🤗🦋

    1. Thanks, Joni. Yes, this was an unexpected review from one of the readers who follows me on FaceBook, so it was a pleasant surprise. As you know, it’s not easy to get reviews these days; everybody has so much else on their minds, I guess.

      1. Everyone is promoting books. As you know I loved your book I read but so many of the poets I really admire have books out and I am constantly submitting work as well. I think it is a lot to do. It is a labor of love for me as I am certainly not making any money. One of my big goals got answered though, I had a featured piece in the Edge of Humanity Magazine. I was so delighted. I am grateful to everyone who publishes my work. That was one of the first on line magazine I started reading and I was blown away by the photographers, and all types of poetry and other publications. Sending you and Valerie big hugs. 🤗🤗🦋

        1. Wow! That looks like a fabulous outlet, Joni. I haven’t seen this magazine, but I’ve just taken a look and it’s so comprehensive. I don’t have time at the moment to view it properly, so I’ve added the URL to my ‘To Do’ list and will investigate further soon. Thanks for mentioning this, and for brightening my day with a bit of hope! You and Scott take care and stay well.

          1. Honestly they are not always looking for new people. Don’t wait to long. You could send a story or you could also send several of your beautiful photographs. Scott saw the call for submissions and told me right away. They have a large audience Stuart. Their photography is amazing. Good luck I hope you can find some time. Sending big hugs to you two. 🤗❤️🦋
